Patience Through Perseverance

At a young age I learned impatience.  I learned to want something and want it now.  That can be a bad thing but I was also taught to be kind, respectful and honest.  So in my pursuit of achieving, I acted in accordance with fairness without trampling on others, which served me well in times of failure.  The constant objective of getting what I went after was always with me.  Persistence and impatience made me a patient and understanding person.

I remember getting on my knees many times and praying side by side with my mom continuously asking for many things, one of four to five things we prayed for all the time was patience.   Although we both wanted everything now,  we knew it would take time.  However we moved with the expectancy to get what we asked for now, like two hungry animals chasing its prey.  We were hungry for patience, so we were placed in situations that exercised our patience to make it stronger.

From those moments in prayer, today I operate as I want the result right now but have the calm and peace of mind to persever if the want is not met and received quickly.
