Know who you share yourself with. We share our thoughts, feelings, actions, ambitions, dreams and goals everyday. Our expressions of those things are precious and must be cherished. Be mindful of who we share them with. Our valuables need to be shared with people who will handle them with care, and aid in the growth of them. Think of it as an investment. We would never put our money in the hands of a person that handles it poorly and loose it. Neither should we put our, ideas, feelings and hope in a position to be handled poorly. After all, they are the inner workings behind what we produce in our lives.
If we place them in a place where they are trampled on, and dismissed, your creativity, hope, and faith will also be taken from you because you did not care to understand the place you invested it. A good account for your inner workings is in the hands of others that thirst for them. They will handle it with care, edify themselves with the seed planted within them and voluntarily give of the ripe fruit they produce.
We need to be mindful of the position we put ourselves in when we reveal ourselves to others. To entrust others with our precious and private hopes and aspirations must be a wise calculated risk (faith). Once what is in us goes out, it will come back. The way it comes back has a strong correlation to the manner it went out and where it was placed. If we share our optimism for our goals and dreams with a pessimist, it will return with negativity. Share yourself with people who are likely to return it to you with the vigor you need to build and grow.
Jesus was not only referring to money in the parable of talents, and when God speaks of accounting for our life, it is about what he has given us. He gave us many things. He will ask us, just like an Owner to a Manager, what did you do with what I gave you to take care of?
Did you loose your happiness? Did you give away your blessing? Did you give control of your mind over to others? What did you keep and grow?
